CHICAGO PUBLIC LIBRARY

When COVID-19 forced libraries to close, access to books became even more limited—especially for kids in underserved communities. But the Chicago Public Library wasn’t about to let locked doors stand in the way of its mission to provide equal access to the world’s ideas. Our solution: turning the library’s quiet Facebook page into a virtual gathering place where celebrities read their favorite children’s books every weekday morning. From Oprah and the Obamas to Henry Winkler and Pete Wentz, the line up drew national attention and thousands of young viewers. This campaign was recognized by The One Show, The Art Director’s Club, Cannes Lions, D&AD, The Effies, NY Film Academy, BIG Awards, Clio Awards and Cresta.

Ask me about how my two nephews inspired this award-winning idea.
